Robert L. Fuller, 90, a lifelong resident of Boylston, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 in Paxton, where he was residing and being cared for by his daughter, Donna and her fiancé Richard Kemp.
He leaves eight children, Robert A. of Boylston, Jeffrey C. of Mooresville, NC, David W. of Boylston, Richard L. of Auburn, Donna L. Derry of Paxton, Steven J. , Mary B. and James J. all of Boylston; 25 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Martha Bigelow of Boylston and Jean Kokernak of Lyman, ME and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son, Sr. Chief Petty Officer George R. Fuller, USN in 1992, George's daughter, Madeline Beth in 1997, a daughter Patricia Gordon in 2008, a brother Clayton Fuller and a sister, Aldine Bemis.
He was born in Boylston, the son of Loring and Gertrude (Flagg) Fuller and was an Army veteran of World War II. Bob owned and operated many businesses throughout his life, starting at a young age taking over his father’s florist business. Later on in life he owned and operated Fuller Bus Lines, Boylston Oil Service, Barre Bus and Fuller Transportation. As recent as 2007 Robert was still playing an active role in his business, transporting his clients to and from the airport.
Bob was always an active figure in the town of Boylston. He was a member of the First Congregational Church where in the past; he provided Sunday School transportation. He also chartered various bus trips for the seniors in Boylston. He once served as the Chief of the Boylston Fire and Police Departments and was a member of the Boylston Lions Club.
Bob’s funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 17 at the First Congregational Church of Boylston, 10 Church Street. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday, January 16 from 5-8 PM at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston.
