SOUTHBOROUGH/WORCESTER-Rose B. Washington, 69, passed away at home Sunday, May 27, 2012. She leaves behind three daughters, Anna Velez with whom she lived, Brenda Melanson of Uxbridge and Cora Washington; her son, Andrew Sullivan; her three sisters, Cora Outen, Loretta Jarrett and Rosemary Washington all of Worcester; four brothers, Johnnie of Tampa, Warren and Eugene of Worcester and Michael of Shrewsbury; ten grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her stepmother, Bessie L. Washington, two brothers and a sister.
Rose was born in Worcester the daughter of the late Wardell and Ollie (Wally) Washington. Rose worked in the rehabilitation services department at Worcester State Hospital and retired from Belmont Nursing Home where she worked as a cook.
Rose’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 31 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 1 at 11:00 am in the funeral home followed by burial in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
