Gordon A. Hammerstrom

BREWSTER-Gordon A. Hammerstrom, 68, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012. He leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gordon was born in Worcester the son of Everett G. and Lillian M. (Renaud) Hammerstrom and has lived in Cape Cod for over 25 years. Gordon was a member of the ARC of Cape Cod and was past president of its Sandpiper Club. He was also a member of the Cape Abilities Program on Cape Cod. Gordon was very active with the Special Olympics and received many Gold and Silver metals participating in events such as bowling, horseshoes, softball, race walking, swimming, bocce and weightlifting. Gordon also loved to dance and spend time with his family at family cookouts.

A visitation for Gordon will be held on Wednesday, June 6 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester with a funeral service at 11:00 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in All Faith’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Arc of Cape Cod, P.O. Box 428, Hyannis, MA 02601 or to The Special Olympics, 100 Conifer Hill Drive, Suite302, Danvers, MA 01923-1167.
